Front Door Porches

This porch had rotten timber, broken glass and a loose as well as partly broken gutter.

I replaced the intire timber construction and the broken glass. To protect the wood from the rain, I fitted a lead strip and new guttering. Then I placed little battens onto the facia board to bring it back to the original design, before priming & glossing the porch.

Sliding Door
The customer had an opening between living room and dining room and asked for folding doors. I suggested sliding doors, set into the wall. After removing the lining I cut out the first stud leaving a gap wide enough to access the next stud further in the wall. This stud had to be drilled out with an 1' extention on the drill. I could now mount the track and fit the roling mechanism to the doors. These doors are equiped with a special sliding door lock and flush push handles.

Under Stair Cupboard
The staircase was moved in this cottage, but unsufficient supported. Firts I extended the newel post to the floor. Then I build an immitation wall to fit under the stairs, from plywood and glued a timber frame on top. The design included an access door and boxing arround the remaining open treads.
